According to Government Order No. 1654-JK(GAD) of 2026, issued by the General Administration Department on Thursday, Mandeep Kaur, IAS (AGMUT: 2004), Commissioner/Secretary to the Government, Housing and Urban Development Department, has been appointed as the inquiry officer.

National Conference MP from Srinagar, Aga Syed Ruhullah Mehdi, had also criticised the alleged conduct of the senior officer, expressing concern over the reported treatment of the woman officer and an alleged threat to her career.
The inquiry is expected to examine the matter, with the government order requiring the inquiry officer to submit her findings within the stipulated 15-day period.
