MUMBAI: Temple is getting a colourful countdown. Deepinder Goyal has revealed six colour options for his much-anticipated wearable and hinted that pre-orders could open as early as next week.
Goyal shared images of the launch colours on X, showing Temple in True Gold, Rose Gold, Black Mirror, Real Jade, Deep Blue and Purple Funk. He described them as the “six colors for the launch edition of Temple”, suggesting that the initial colour line-up could be limited to early units, although the company has not clarified whether these will remain available after launch.
The bigger tease, however, came alongside the colours. Goyal said pre-orders could open “hopefully next week”, with the launch still dependent on a couple of pending items.
Temple is a small wearable designed to sit on the temple, the area between the forehead and ear, rather than on the wrist or finger. The unusual placement is central to the device’s proposition and has already attracted attention, including after badminton star PV Sindhu was spotted wearing it during matches.
According to Goyal, the temple region provides access to signals that can be used to study cerebral blood flow, oxygenation and the body’s response to different activities.
The device’s core technology, called Brain Flow, is positioned around measuring blood flow to the brain. Goyal has described it as the first continuous, wearable measurement of cerebral blood flow.
Temple has also drawn scrutiny over how effectively it can measure these signals. In recent weeks, Goyal has shared research comparing Temple’s Brain Flow measurements with time-domain near-infrared spectroscopy, or TD-NIRS, a technique that can distinguish signals from deeper brain tissue and the superficial layers of the scalp.
The research has not yet undergone peer review, leaving questions around the technology’s wider validation.
While pre-orders could begin next week, Temple’s exact launch date has not been confirmed. Goyal had previously indicated that a limited launch edition would start shipping before the end of 2026.
Access is also expected to be selective initially. Prospective buyers need to apply for early access through the Temple website, with submissions having opened in May.
Pricing remains another missing piece. Goyal has previously suggested that Temple could cost around $1,000, or roughly Rs 1 lakh, although the final price has not been announced.
For now, the six-colour reveal gives prospective buyers a clearer look at the device, while the pre-order tease suggests that Temple’s long-awaited debut may finally be moving from promise to purchase.
